We finally got a brand new couch in the Spring of 2022! It was something we were planning on doing for sometime but some President’s Day sales came along and we jumped on them! It was delivered around mid April and we have had some quality couch time since then to reallyyy get comfortable with it!
We chose the Coburn sectional sofa. Since it is modular, we chose the pieces that would fit best for us and our wants but also our space. We chose a 3 piece sectional with one chaise, rather than an ottoman, in their Crytpon performance fabric in Nomad Snow. I wanted a light couch but knew with a dog (and a child along the way) that performance fabric was a must.
When our son was born in June, the couch saw a lot of love. My husband and I enjoy tv every evening while curled up on the couch…the chaise is amazing for movie nights! We snack and drink on it. We’ve slept on it (great for naps!). We’ve even rearranged the modular sections a few times!
It has seen it’s fair share of use and will only continue to be used more and more! It has been holding up very well so far but we do follow a few ‘rules’. Quigley, our 90lb long hair German Shepherd, is not allowed on it. He is not allowed on any of our furniture and only occasionally come up on our bed for pets in the morning at 5am when we tell him to do so. So the couch is and always will be off limits for him..we even had this rule with our old couch. If something spills, we immediately clean it up. No shoes on the couch and when Graham is older there will be no standing or eating for him on the couch. We spent good money for this couch and while material things are just ‘things’ I still want to take pride in what I have purchased, teach others (like Graham and hopefully future children) to take pride in things you/we own, and make our purchases last as long as they can.
The spot that best fits the couch is slightly small so we rearranged it all a couple times so Quigley could run around the area a bit easier. Most recently, before Christmas, Steve moved the center piece and it was such a great set up! It allowed for more walking room from the dining room into the living room and still allowed the living room rug to be fully available for Quigley to play. Since we now have the Christmas tree set up, we had to move it back but we will certainly set it up separated again once the Christmas tree is down in January.
If you’ve been in the market for a new couch, definitely look into the Arhaus Coburn, especially during their sales! We have been extremely happy with it so far!
