Like everybody, my style has evolved over the years. I used to love the idea of wearing heels with any kind of outfit and would dream of buying all the beautiful designer heels out there but truth is, I just don’t wear them enough. I don’t even wear them for work unless I am at a cocktail/formal event. In the summer, I am a full on sandal girl and in the winter, I have become more and more a sneaker girl. Basically what is easy and comfortable but still looks effortlessly put together.
Instead of saving my money for Louboutins (I’ll still save for a classic pair someday!), I’ve found I can turn my money towards clothes and shoes I wear on a daily basis while I can slowly save for things I would use more regularly like a handbag. I’ve gotten boringly practical and strategic with my money in my old age! The shoes I buy most often are sneakers and flats for work, but buying sneakers is obviously more fun than thinking of things for work.
My everyday sneakers consist of vans, slip on sneakers from Target, and my newest Soludos addition. They are all extremely comfortable (I walk around full days at Disney with these!) but bring that effortless cool factor that I strive for when wearing what would be considered a basic outfit.
My slip on Target sneakers are old and dirty and don’t really resemble white anymore but I don’t care. They are the most comfortable and easy to wear sneakers ever. They luckily have had them every year for the past few years and I highlight suggest anyone grab a pair considering they’re only $23! Literally just added the leopard ones to my cart- oops.
I have two pairs of Vans that are my go-to. The classic black and white and a slimmer looking sneaker tan, canvas sneaker that looks a bit more classy (maybe even preppy?) than a regular sneaker. I bought them at our local surf shop, but they were unfortunately seasonal and no longer available but Poshmark has listing for it! I wear both of these with any outfit based around jeans, joggers, or workout leggings. When I wear workout leggings to just run errands, it once again, give an elevated look to the outfit. I do wear my classic black and white ones more, but that’s more so because of the fact that the leather laces in the tan ones come untied regularly….and again, I just want to wear something easy that I don’t have to fuss with.
I had been eyeing Golden Goose sneakers for a while but wasn’t completely sold on them. I researched blogs from over the years and every single person said they are worth the cost but I still couldn’t get past the $500 price tag. I knew I would wear these everyday, but I also knew they would get ruined from wearing them everyday. So I chose to pass and look at some comparable ones. That’s when I came across Soludos Ibiza platform sneaker. They looked so cool and also had a platform which would give my 5’1″ self juuust a little help. The leather is so soft and the sole of the shoe is cork so it’s made for comfort. It’s a win (and new everyday sneaker) for me!
