Anyone else out there not like the scary/creepy parts to Halloween?? (I love candy, so that’s my number 1 favorite part of the holiday!) I’d much rather watch funny movies or shows that relate to Halloween during October than scary ones. If you are familiar with Disney World, you know they have a special event called ‘Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party’ and you can trick or treat all around Disney World, there are character spots that have some unique villains you can do meet & greets with, and a special, fun Halloween parade called ‘Boo To You.’ It’s so much fun and I highly recommend it to any Disney fan when this pandemic is all over!

My husband and I recently decided we should make a list of Halloween movies and Halloween episodes of some of our favorite shows that we should watch all month long. As I began writing down a list, I decided to mainly focus on a list of Halloween throwbacks that we (I) grew up with. For people my age, that would obviously have to include a long, amazing list of Disney Channel related movies and shows. Then that’s when I created the idea of a list of ‘Not So Scary’ Throwback TV Episodes & Movies to Watch for Halloween! So for all you millenials that got to enjoy your childhood in the 90’s, this list is for you!

Disney+

  • Don’t Look Under the Bed
  • Halloweentown
  • Halloweentown II: Kalabar’s Revenge
  • Halloweentown High
  • Haunted Mansion
  • Hocus Pocus

  • Sabrina the Teenage Witch – Season 6 “Murder on the Halloween Express”
  • Scream Queens – Season 1 (I know this isn’t a throwback but it’s hysterical and Emma Roberts was on Unfabulous when I was in 8th grade through high school so it counts)
  • Double Double Toil and Trouble

Netflix

  • New Girl – season 2 episode 6 “Halloween”
  • The Office – Season 2 Episode 5 “Halloween”
  • The Office – Season 5 Episode 6 “Employee Transfer”

  • The Office – Season 9 Episode 5 “Here Comes Treble”

Amazon

  • Clue
  • Practical Magic
  • Casper
  • Goosebumps (added to the list because the books were a 90’s staple and Jack Black cracks me up)

HBO Max

  • Friends – Season 8 Episode 6 “THe One with The Halloween Party”

Movies That Need to be Found:

  • Under Wraps
  • Tower of Terror
  • Susie Q
I’m not sure why Under Wraps isn’t on Disney+ yet since it was an actual DCOM but it’s not and it’s extremely upsetting. The other 2 played on Disney Channel but were not actual Disney Channel Original Movies. They can all be found on YouTube (don’t @ me about the quality), you can buy the Tower of Terror DVD on Amazon, and you can rent Under Wraps on Amazon.

It’s a long list but they all get you into the spirit of Halloween in a FUN way! Have any movies or shows you think should be added to the list? I’d love to see what throwbacks you grew up with.

I made a super easy print of the entire list so be sure to save it to go back to!
