Our hallway, full bathroom was mostly renovated when we moved in and it just needed some final touches. The sellers gutted and renovated this bathroom before putting it on the market and thankfully their realtor convinced them NOT to wallpaper it (like the rest of the house was). She suggested to just leave the drywall primed and let the buyers do what they please with the space.
That decision was so helpful for us and this bathroom renovation was one of the major appeals to buying the house. With this bathroom mostly updated, we just had to focus on slightly renovating the master bathroom. Things like this are what you factor in when budgeting and buying a home…but that’s a whole other topic which could be fun to discuss! Anyway, back to our full bathroom!
This bathroom had a brand new tub/shower, shower tiles, floor tiles, vanity and counter top, light fixture, window trim, and drywall. We just wanted to paint it and our own decor touches.
I didn’t mind any of the design choices that the sellers chose. I actually love the floors and the vanity and I’m so happy we have them! The shower tiles work perfectly for the space but I probably would have chose something else if I was doing it myself. The light is a whatever light as well but both of these things work well in the space and there is no need at all to spend money on getting something else.
The floor is wood look tile and the vanity is by KraftMaid. The vanity is extremely well made and a high quality product. If you’ve been in the market for vanities lately, woof those things are expensiveeee, so I am so glad we have a beautiful, quality vanity that will last a long time.
With all of that already updated, we just needed to paint and add our own touches to the space. My cousin was moving and had given me a huge, beautiful mirror that they no longer needed and I immediately knew I wanted it in our bathroom. Since the mirror was a strong, large focal point, and the vanity was a dark brown stain, I decided to keep the rest of the bathroom light with a fresh, crisp white. We decided on Benjamin Moore Chantilly Lace for the entire bathroom (wall, trim, and ceiling).
We had our shower curtain since our apartment and it still worked in this space so we kept that the same…I think it was from Bed, Bath, & Beyond? But over 7 years ago now!
This past year, I decided to add some artwork to our bathroom so I painted a few different paintings on canvases based on different seasons and framed them. I’m able to swap them out depending on the time of the year and if we just feel like switching up the artwork. The paintings add such a cozy vibe to the bathroom and it made me love the look of artwork in the bathroom!
We just added a few other decor details in the space, including a jar for cotton balls or anything else you may use regularly, toothbrush holder, tissue box holder, trash can, and a small planter with a real plant for a fresh pop of some more green. They all still give the space it’s own feel but still give an overall coastal living feel like the rest of the house.
