Coastal Farmhouse Christmas Decor Tour

This will be our second Christmas in our first home but we were still renovating so much last year that we didn’t even get a tree and barely decorated. This year we got a tree, put lights up outside, and decorated a lot more inside!

Our house style is coastal farmhouse and I wanted our Christmas decor to still go with that style. It is still pretty minimal but I figured we will continually get more and more Christmas decor over the year.

There are so many new items that I bought this year that are either already all sold out or not available for purchase online. I am hoping they will come back next year because I’d honestly love to get even more for next year! But I apologize in advance that there are not links to most of the items.

With that said, let’s start with my favorite faux garland I have found yet displayed on our Everett Table from Worldmarket!

This is the blueberry garland from Target with Studio Mcgee. I was able to order 2 online before Thanksgiving and it’s been sold out since the week after Thanksgiving. Maybe your store still has some in stock but it can’t be ordered online anymore and none of my Targets have any in stock. Major bummer because this garland is seriously the best faux garland out there and it only cost $30. I put 2 together to drape over both sides.

The nickle candlesticks are from Magnolia in short and medium heights. The black candlesticks were from a friends wedding (her centerpieces were all different candlesticks she found in vintage shops!) and I spray painted them black.

You may have seen our dining room centerpiece on my Christmas tablscape ideas post! It’s different faux branches that I mainly got from Michaels over the years and pinecones in an old wood bark tray from when Magnolia that we used as our wedding centerpieces in 2016! I also added battery powered fairy lights.

Moving over to our living room. This cute galvanized house is from Target and they have a few other variations that are all so cute!

The bottle brush trees are from Magnolia in the white color and they are another item that is unfortunately all sold out. They are awesome quality and if they come back next year, I will definitely be getting more! 

On the opposite side of our console table, there is a white jug and faux cedar branch both from Magnolia (sold out), a wood tree with a marble base I found a few years ago in Home Goods, and a ‘gather’ sign that I made.

The mini tree set up next to our console table is the faux tree we used as our main tree in our apartment and I stuck it in a large galvanized bucket we’ve had. 

For our main Christmas tree, we get a real, fresh cut Christmas tree. This was our first tree together so we needed something for around the tree and I decided on this plaid green and white tree skirt one from Target’s Hearth and Hand Magnolia line. I wanted it to be even wider that it was around the tree so I got a fuzzy Sherpa blanket and loosely wrapped it around the base. We don’t have too many ornaments and I didn’t decorate it with any theme because we know we will just get so many ornaments over the years! It will be a tree full of meaningful ornaments rather than a picture perfect ‘influencer’ tree.

The stockings are from Target but are not available in white anymore. I got them last year and they were back this year so hopefully they will come back again next year! The cute wire reindeeer stocking holders were another Home Goods find a few years back. The white houses were in the dollar section in Target and not available to purchase online and the other village houses were gifts!

A few items that are also not available but just look so cute is this wood Christmas tree wall hanging that I randomly found in Target last year and these gold metal bells that I found at Kirklands last year. Mcgee and Co sold similar ones this year but they are already sold out. I just stuck a small nail in the wall to hang the tree and then draped the bells over it.

Going into the kitchen area now! I love having different wood cutting boards styled in the kitchen so I added a mini faux tree from the dollar section in Target to Christmasy it up a bit. 

We had our nephew and nieces over for a gingerbread house making day this month and I made this are a mini hot chocolate bar set up! (PS- yes, we still need to get backsplash up! I am just too indecisive on tile and need to mentally prepare for that DIY)

Around the window over our sink, I wrapped faux garland that I had from our apartment. It has glitter ALL over it and I was going to throw it out. When I went to look for more garland, everything decent was already sold out. So instead of settling and buying something new that I may not really like, I decided to use the glittery garland instead.  It luckily doesn’t look bad when it’s up and glitter only gets everywhere if you touch it…so we make sure not to touch it. LOL

We have a wall next to our last cabinet where I usually hang a countryside landscape painting my Auntie Rose painted in 1971. I moved that to the hallway so I could put something there that had more of a Christmas feel. I got this sign from Kirklands last year and I will admit it is awful quality. I hung it up here last year and that same day it started falling apart and every piece of the frame separated. They were super short nails so this year I took them all out and nailed it back together myself with longer nails. 

Across from the main part of the kitchen is a mini liquor cabinet set up type of situation. I styled this with some more bottle brush trees that I got from Target last year (they unfortunately didn’t come back this year) and a wood sign that I made with a winter-inspired tree painting. Oh, and how cute is the snowman wine bottle holder?! 

In our hallway bathroom, I set up just one mini faux Christmas tree on our vanity. Another Target dollar spot find.

That about wraps up this Coastal Farmhouse Christmas Decor tour! (Yes, I purposely used ‘wraps’ because, Christmas)

I have a lottt of ideas of decorations that I’d like to do but I needed to pace myself (aka budget) with buying new items this year and not go overly crazy. I have those ideas in my head for next year and I’ll see if there is anything that I can purchase on sale after this season is over or get some more super early in the season next year. So we will see what happens!
