I’m sure you hear everyone say that house hunting is the worst but we were truly excited for it! But after the whole process, I now understand why people don’t move from their ‘starter home.’ I truly don’t want to think about the home buying and house hunting for a veryyyy long time.
Even though our search seemed like forever, the actual process of purchasing the house is a blur and I don’t know how people buy/sell regularly. I checked out after like the fifth housing term that I’ve never heard of before so thank goodness for my husband tackling all the lawyer/closing items. The house is a cute little split ranch where the master and master bath are on the left side of the house and the rest of the bedrooms and second full bath are on the right with the living ares in the middle. The previous owners took such great care of it which was pretty opposite of most of the homes we saw in our price range. While it’s not a fixer upper per say, it is outdated and not our style at all…like there is wall paper on almost every wall and dark red carpet. To each their own I guess!
We will be updating the floors and taking off the wall paper right away. Over time, we will update the kitchen, our master bathroom (luckily they renovated the other full bath and it’s beautiful!), and possibly adding in another small room to be an office…but that will most likely be way down the line! For now, it’s going to be small improvements like door knobs, kitchen hardware, painting, lights, etc. Those small details can still make such a difference so I am excited to bring you on this journey of home updates and decor styling!
If there is anything you want to know about the home buying process or the renovations, send me a note!
